The new Woking market opened in October 2014 having relocated from its previous site. Conveniently located in a town-centre position between the Peacock and Wolsey Place Shopping Centres, footfall at Market Walk exceeds 100,000 weekly. Our involvement included the design, specification and procurement of the 15 purpose designed permanent kiosks and seven demountable day stalls.
The design intent was to create a home for independent food retailing and catering in a superb town-centre location and Quarterbridge pre-let the entire scheme resulting in 100% occupancy.
Providing 15 purpose built kiosks and 8 demountable units, Market Walk provides seven-day trading and acts as a home for Woking’s independent entrepreneurial retailers and caterers wishing to establish themselves in the heart of the town centre. There is a strong bias towards fresh, high quality produce with the new stalls being specifically designed to accommodate butchers, greengrocers, fresh fish and delicatessen product.
Great care and attention to detail resulting in fully fitted bespoke kiosks enabling traders to occupy space with limited capital investment, whilst enabling the landlord to maintain the highest of standards. Market Walk also provides excellent back of house facilities including easy loading access, cold storage and food preparation areas all designed to deliver a turnkey offer.
Woking Borough Council instructed Quarterbridge to advise on the letting and management of the new market.
